PX Flow Wastewater Pump

Whether you’re working with wastewater in an industrial process, a municipal pumping station, or an internal recirculation system, PX Flow is a reliable choice built to handle day-to-day operations—and the breakdowns that are bound to happen sooner or later.

What is a PX Flow submersible pump?

PX Flow is manufactured by Papantonatos in Greece, which has more than 60 years of experience in the design, production, and servicing of submersible pumps. The pump builds on the legacy of the well-known Swedish brand Pumpex, which was acquired in 2004—and spare parts for a wide range of Pumpex pumps are still available through RH Pumper.

This means that the PX Flow offers a powerful combination: a modern, robust submersible pump with Scandinavian engineering in its design, and a manufacturer that deliberately oversizes the critical components.

  • Oversized shafts, bearings, and seals ensure a long service life
  • Motors up to 170 kW (50 Hz)
  • High head – up to 110 meters with a vortex impeller
  • Three impeller types in the same volute: vortex, closed channel, and semi-open S-channel
  • Energy-efficient Siemens motors (standard IE1/IE2), with IE3 and IE4 available as options for most sizes
  • Manufactured in the EU (Greece) – shorter and more predictable delivery times

Industrial wastewater poses special challenges

Industrial wastewater isn’t just dirty water. It often contains fibers, solid particles, grease, chemical residues, or hot fluids—and it takes a heavy toll on a standard submersible pump. In dairies, pharmaceutical companies, and food production facilities, there are also requirements for hygiene, corrosion resistance, and documented operational reliability.

The PX Flow is built for the job. The pump can handle demanding wastewater without frequent stoppages, and it is available in both cast iron and stainless steel versions. This provides the flexibility to choose the right solution for each individual application—even when aggressive media or hygiene requirements are involved.

For wastewater with a particularly high fiber content, the semi-open S-channel impeller can be a good compromise because it offers both high efficiency and is less prone to clogging than a conventional channel impeller.

Stainless Steel PX Flow – When Cast Iron Isn’t Enough

For the pharmaceutical, dairy, food, and other industries that handle aggressive media or have strict hygiene requirements, a stainless steel submersible pump is often a must. The PX Flow is available in AISI 316 stainless steel for the vast majority of industrial applications, and in Duplex as an option for particularly aggressive media, chlorides, or saltwater.

The materials can be combined in a modular fashion—so, for example, you can choose a pump with a 316 impeller and a cast-iron volute, or a pump housing made entirely of stainless steel. At RH Pumper, we work closely with the manufacturer so we can provide precise advice on material selection and deliver both pumps and replacement parts within a predictable lead time.

Technical Details That Make the Difference

It’s often the details that determine whether a wastewater pump will last for years to come—or become a recurring source of maintenance issues. PX Flow has been designed with a number of features that both extend its service life and make maintenance easier:

  • ECOFLU – a closed internal cooling system that keeps the engine temperature stable
  • Fast Seal cartridge seal for quick and clean replacement
  • Adjustable channel-impeller clearance (Reducer system) for better performance and fewer clogs
  • Quick disassembly with just 2, 4, or 6 bolts—significantly reduces service time
  • Engine inspection hole and oil drain plug as standard
  • Stainless steel handle, cable entry on the side of the pump cover or at the top

The pump is available as a wet-pit installation with a guide rail system, a dry installation (vertical or horizontal), and as a portable unit. This provides great flexibility, whether the PX Flow is to be installed in a new pumping station or used to replace an existing pump.

Fits all standard shoe sizes

The PX Flow is designed with a flange that fits virtually all standard bases on the market—either through direct mounting or via an adapter. In practice, this means that an existing pump can often be replaced with a PX Flow without changing the piping, foundation, or guide rail system.

This saves time, costs, and downtime during replacement, making the PX Flow a natural choice when phasing out an old pump or upgrading a pumping station without the need for remodeling.

Also a good choice for supplies

Although many of our PX Flow customers are in the industrial sector, the pump is equally well-suited for municipal utilities. Its robust design, high efficiency, and long service intervals make it ideal for operation at pumping stations, where stability and verifiable energy consumption are key priorities.
