Pump types
A motor pump is a combination of a pump and an internal combustion engine in one mobile unit. It is primarily used where there is a need for flexible and powerful pumping without access to power. The Motor Pump can be moved around and set up quickly – making it popular in construction, utilities and emergency situations such as flooding.

The motor pump uses an internal combustion engine – typically diesel or gasoline – to drive the pump impeller. When the engine starts, the impeller creates a negative pressure that sucks the liquid into the pump and out through the discharge pipe.
Most motor pumps are self-priming and can be quickly put into operation without the need for priming. The unit is typically mounted on a frame or trailer for easy transportation and set-up.
